Compact column lift for B-DOUBLE road trains

LZV was one of the hot issues at the Professional Body Building Days in Gorinchem (Holland) last week. LZV stands for “longer and heavier vehicles”, and refers to the road trains up to 25.25m which are allowed in the Netherlands under special licenses.

A variety of LZV or road train configurations is available on the market today. One of them, the B –DOUBLE, consists of a tractor unit, a 1st semi-trailer with coupling plate at the rear, followed by a 2nd semi-trailer. The body on the 1st semi-trailer can move forwards & backwards. Forwards to make the coupling plate free to attach the 2nd semi-trailer. Backwards (if the 2nd semi-trailer is uncoupled) to be able to load / unload the body of the 1st trailer.

For tail lifts, LZV are complex since the tail lift must slide over the coupling plate and the axles at the rear of the 1st trailer. Dhollandia’s DH-VH38 brings all the solutions LZV require.

No parts of the DH-VH38 protrude below the underside of the trailer body, so that the lift can slide forwards & backwards without complications. Its compact design keeps the useful interior loading volume virtually intact. With full closure platforms, and 2.000kg max lift capacity, it offers a versatile tool for materials handling and distribution. Thanks to the low positioning of the tilt cylinders on the platform, the platform in open position can be slid under most loading docks.

Furthermore, the platform of the lift at Gorinchem was equipped with rear doors, so that the trailer body could also be loaded / unloaded by means of forklifts, or at the loading docks, without opening the platform itself, and thus without any hinder of the tail lift.
